DEL CITY, Okla. – Police are investigating a homicide that happened early Wednesday morning behind a convenience store.

According to authorities, the store clerk at the 7-Eleven near Scott St. and I-40 Service Rd. heard gunshots, ran outside and found a body in the street.

"The victim was out laying in the street. He had no ID on him, so we had no idea who he is. No wallet, no [other] form of identification was found on him,” said Capt. Ted Kleber with the Del City Police Department.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene with one gunshot to the chest.

A second person was found next to the deceased and is recovering in the hospital with injuries to their leg and wrist.

After searching the scene, police found a gun.

"There were also casings found at the scene, but the gun doesn't match the casings,” Kleber said.

Investigators are actively searching for a second gun.

"We don't know if they were shooting at each other, because we haven't found the second gun. We went back out there to search the area to see if it was tossed,” Kleber said.

Authorities said they don’t know if the victims were friends or adversaries.

"We believe there was another person involved, because the gun is gone. We searched the area again, we went to the roof and we couldn't find anything,” Kleber said.
