Winter activities for the entire family

OKLAHOMA – There are a lot of Christmas concerts and recitals this time of year.

Lauren Nelson with Discover Oklahoma says, believe it or not, winter isn’t a bad time to go fishing.

Thousands of Oklahoma fishermen and women agree that winter can be a great time to cast hook.

Zip-lining  is another great idea to get the family outdoors and see the state.

Holiday pop up shops are also doing a brisk business again in Midtown.

These are next to the outdoor Bleu Garten food trucks on 10th street.

Because there is a rotating line-up of business vendors, you will likely see something different every time you shop.

The popular Polar Express is now running through December 23, 2016.

You’ll leave from the Stillwater train depot, and once on-board you’ll enjoy treats, hot chocolate, and a visit from Santa Claus himself!

This event sells out quickly, so it’s recommended to buy your tickets early.

There is also the Boys Ranch Town Drive-Through Christmas Pageant running  Friday night through December 4, 2016 from 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

You can find this FREE event at 5100 E. 33rd Street in Edmond.

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic’s “Christmas Show” is also going on now through December 3, 2016 with three shows left.

Broadway star Kelli O’Hara is starring in this year’s performance.

Discover Oklahoma airs Saturdays on NewsChannel 4 at 6:30 p.m.
