NEWTOWN, Conn. – A group of parents who are still reeling from the loss of their children say they want to try and spare other young lives from the same tragic end.
In 2012, 20 elementary school children and six adults were killed when a gunman walked into their classroom at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
After mourning the loss of their children, the parents of those killed decided to come together for a cause- to prevent future school shootings.
The ‘Know the Signs’ campaign teaches people to recognize the warning signs of someone who may be contemplating an act of violence.
Last week, Sandy Hook Promise released an eye-opening PSA on YouTube.
It has since been viewed over 2.5 million times.
Organizers say they spoke with threat assessors and mental health experts to create the content.
