Sooners Use Runs to Put Away Oral Roberts

Oklahoma’s men’s basketball team used big runs late in the first half and early in the second half to take control and go on to a 92-66 win over Oral Roberts on Wednesday night at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.

The Sooners led by just one when they went on a 16-2 run late in the first half.

OU led 43-27 at halftime, then after a brief run by ORU early in the second half, Oklahoma scored 12 straight and went on a 19-7 run to put the game away.

Christian James led OU with 17 points and hit three 3-pointers, while Jordan Woodard had 15 points and three 3’s.

Rashard Odomes added 12 for the Sooners.

Oklahoma hit 11 of 23 from three-point range and 52 percent overall from the field.

The OU defense was solid too, forcing 20 ORU turnovers.

Oklahoma improved to 6-2 on the season, while the Golden Eagles dropped to 1-8.

The Sooners play Wichita State on Saturday at 3:00 at Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City in the All-College Classic.
