OKLAHOMA CITY – Two men are behind bars after allegedly stealing several pieces of heavy equipment from all over the state.

Investigators learned that 37-year-old Erik Odegaard had allegedly stolen an excavator from a job site and a 30-foot gooseneck trailer from a business.

On Tuesday evening, officers spotted Odegaard in a truck pulling a gooseneck trailer.

Authorities say they watched as Odegaard drove off the road, pulled up next to an excavator and drove it onto the trailer.

Officials say 43-year-old Jason Jones drove away with the excavator while Odegaard left in another vehicle.

Police stopped both vehicles and learned that the truck, the trailer and the excavator were all reported as stolen.

After interviewing the alleged suspects, officers were led to another 30-foot gooseneck trailer that was stolen out of Mustang.

When authorities went to the location where all the stolen property was being stored, they also arrested the property owner,  33-year-old Charles Hale.

Erik Odegaard and Jason Jones were arrested on complaints of second-degree burglary, grand larceny, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
