BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Broken Arrow police are mourning one of their own after an officer died in a motorcycle crash over the weekend.

Just before 3 p.m. Saturday, Officer Eugene Orr was killed in a crash involving a pick-up on Hwy. 51 and 111th St. in Coweta.

Orr was a decorated 12-year veteran of the Broken Arrow Police Department.

“We are broken-hearted about the loss of our friend and colleague. Thank you in advance for everyone’s understanding and patience as we move through this difficult time,” BAPD Chief David Boggs told KJRH.

The driver of the pick-up was not arrested.

However, he was taken to the hospital to have his blood drawn, Fox 23 reports.

Authorities are investigating the crash.

The investigation will be turned over to the Wagoner County District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges should be filed.
