OKLAHOMA CITY – Thousands of Pikepass customers may see a change on their bill due to a ‘time sync error.’

According to NewsOk, about 69,000 Pikepass customers may have been overcharged on their November statements because of the error.

Officials say the corrections should be visible on those customers’ December bills and suspect the total amount that was overcharged is less than $1 million.

Authorities with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority told the newspaper that an error occurred between Nov. 21 and Nov. 28, which made it seem like some customers were exiting the turnpike before they had even entered it. The billing system then charged customers for two trips.

NewsOk reports that the overcharges likely affected customers who traveled on the Kilpatrick, Creek or Turner Turnpikes in urban areas.
