Oklahoma County deputy critically injured after being hit by driver who ran a red light

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, Okla. – An Oklahoma County deputy is recovering from serious injuries after being hit by a driver who allegedly ran a red light.

Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel says Reserve Deputy Larry Butler was critically injured in an accident on Friday.

Officials say the accident occurred in Bethany when a driver ran a red light and hit Butler’s vehicle.

In all, officials say six vehicles were involved in the wreck.

Butler was taken to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition with a multitude of injuries.
