LOS ANGELES, Calif. - What was supposed to be the happiest day of a couple's life took a tragic turn in California on Saturday evening.
Officials say a woman was killed and five others were injured after a large tree fell on a wedding party that was taking photos at Whittier Park.
Witnesses tell KTLA that the wedding party was taking photos when the eucalyptus tree came crashing down.
Authorities say some people were able to climb out from under the tree, but six people had to be rescued by firefighters.
One woman died on her way to the hospital, while a 4-year-old girl was listed in critical condition after receiving head trauma.
So far, none of the victims' identities have been released.
City officials say they will work to determine what caused the tree to fall.
