Thunder Lose Another Big Lead/Game
Oklahoma City has developed a habit of jumping out to big leads only to squander it away. It happened against Sacramento, Boston and San Antonio.
The Thunder again found themselves in that position Monday against the Pelicans. OKC jumped out to a 19 point lead against New Orleans only to see it dissipate. Anthony Davis helped the cause by dropping a game high 36 points en route to a 114-107 win. the loss drops OKC to 7-9 on the season. They’ve lost five straight on the road.
Russell Westbrook notched another triple double scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds, 12 assists however he shot 6-19 from the field. Paul George led OKC by hitting six threes and finishing with 26 points. Steven Adams added 15 while Carmelo Anthony had 19.
Five Pelicans finished in double figures as they shot over 51 percent from the field. Former OSU Star Tony Allen added six points.
Next up for OKC, Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors will hit the Peake for the first time this season. Durant has said he hopes to be able to play after suffering an ankle injury against Philadelphia last weekend.
