Blake Shelton cheers on alma mater’s football team with Facebook video

ADA, Okla. - While many football players will be taking the field for the last time this season, one of Ada's biggest fans sent the team a special message from Los Angeles.

The battle of the Class 4A championship kicks off on Friday night at Bill Jensen Field in Choctaw as the Ada High School football team squares off against the undefeated Heritage Hall Chargers.

Country music star Blake Shelton sent a little love to his alma mater via Facebook.

"What's up everybody? This is Ada High School graduate, barely, Blake Shelton. And, dang it, I'm trapped in California, we're filming 'The Voice' right now. But I wanted to send a good luck video to you all because I hear that we are going back to state for the first time in 21 years! So from me to you all, good luck! Ada Cougars Take State!" Shelton said.

A lot is on the line for both teams.

For Heritage Hall, it is their third state championship game in four years.

For Ada, they are focused on getting the school's 20th state championship.

Good luck to both teams!
