OKLAHOMA CITY – Seagate has announced they are laying off more than 90 employees as part of a “global reduction in force.”
94 employees are included in the layoff.
Seagate sent News 4 a statement saying:
“In regard to your email about Seagate operations in Oklahoma, Seagate has been positioning to respond to a change demand for storage solutions as a result of accelerating usage shifts of technologies and architectures.
Building on actions taken over the past year, today we, unfortunately, had a targeted, global reduction in force across a number of organizations and teams.
From what I understand there will be about 94 affected employees and yes, this announcement is effective today.”
The announcement took effect Friday.
