Tara Blume joined Oklahoma s NewsChannel 4 in the spring of 1991 as a general assignment reporter. She currently anchors the Saturday morning newscasts. She is also a reporter and a producer.
Prior to joining NewsChannel 4, Blume worked as a news reporter at KFSM-TV in Fort Smith, Arkansas and KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Blume is a graduate of Oral Roberts University with a degree in communications and a minor in film.
She is a member of Newchurch and serves on the board of "Peaceful Mission Ministry."
Tara, her husband, News Channel 4's Great State reporter, Galen Culver, and their daughters, Evelyn and Holly, reside in Oklahoma City.

Knew you wanted to be a reporter when: As an intern I got to see "behind the scenes" at crime scenes, murder trials and even a Tina Turner concert.
Best movie of all time: The Year of Living Dangerously.
Hardest part of my job: Asking a grieving family member if they'd like to talk to the media.
Best part of my job: I enjoy writing the news.
Favorite holiday: Christmas Eve
School fight song: Castor Raiders. Yes... that was really the team's name. Just say it a couple times and you'll "get it."
My favorite story of all time: Touching story about a young boy in OKC who was dying with a brain tumor. We traveled with him as he got his dying wish to go home to Mexico to see family and be buried by his grandfather.
People are surprised when I tell them: that my husband Galen and I are ballroom dancers.
Biggest life achievement/made mom & dad proud when I: interviewed Billy Graham and did a special report on his visit.
I like to listen to: Latin music.
Favorite Book: Big Rock Candy Mountain. Wallace Stegner
I'd jump at the chance to: travel around the world
