NORMAN, Okla. -- A Norman consignment shop shuts its doors for good.

We’ve heard from at least seven customers who said the owner of Christiana’s Consignment, Chele Rider, closed shop without notifying some customers first.

“We came and her store was empty,” Rachel Brown said. “I had gotten no phone calls to collect my items and I just want them back.”

We’ve learned Rider acquired the store last summer but decided to close shop so she could focus solely on her online consignment company.

“We have all of their stuff,” the business owner said. “I mean, anything that had an open contract [that] is not sold.”

Rider, who has a second job, told us she was out of town on business for several weeks but has every intention of returning merchandise and money to consignors.

“We sent out a facebook message and emails to everyone who had an open contract before we closed,” she said.

Rider assures us all the merchandise is safe and sound in a Norman storage facility.

Since our conversation with the business owner, she's been busy returning merchandise to a number of customers, including Rachel Brown.
