NEW YORK CITY, N.Y.—An item that was recently dropped off at a Goodwill store in New York will soon be making its way back to the Sooner State.

Last month, a 7 ½ inch vessel turned up at the Goodwill warehouse and was listed on the company’s auction site.

Company officials say they started receiving emails, claiming the vessel as being ancient American Indian pottery.

A note found inside the pottery indicated it had been found in the 1970’s at a burial mound in Spiro, Okla.

Goodwill officials say the pottery will be given to the Caddo Nation and won’t be up for auction.
