Plane crash kills recent graduates

WILSON COUNTY, KANSAS– A twin air plane crashed into a field, skidded 200 feet then hit a row of tress, killing 4 and injuring one.

The crash happened at 5:30 p.m. and firefighters worked until 8 p.m. recovering the passengers.

Austin Anderson, Stephen Luth, Luke Sheets, recent graduates from Oral Roberts University, and Garret Coble, a former instructor died in the crash. 

Hannah Luce, daughter of ORU trustee is in the hospital.

In a letter from ORU President Dr. Mark Rutland he wrote to the ORU family it states”

“There was a tragic plane crash in southern Kansas yesterday and five people with connections to ORU were involved in the accident. Stephen Luth, Luke Sheets, and Austin Anderson, all three recent graduates, and Garret Coble, a former instructor in the College of Business, have died.

“Hannah Luce, a recent graduate and daughter of ORU Trustee Ron Luce, is in the hospital. Please pray for all of the families that lost loved ones and for Hannah in the hospital. Pray for God’s peace to be with all of them and pray for Hannah’s healing.”
