OKLAHOMA CITY—A wreck near the Fort Smith Junction along I-35 had hazmat crews busy for more than nine hours cleaning up a fuel spill.

The accident happened just around 11:30 p.m. on Friday.

The driver of the fuel truck says he was cut off, lost control and his truck tipped over the median, causing nearly 9,000 gallons of unleaded fuel to leak.

All southbound traffic was re-routed while hazmat crews and police cleared the scene.

All lanes were reopened just after 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
