Abuse case against former professor will go to trial
NORMAN, Okla.—The case against a former University of Oklahoma professor, who is accused of sexually abusing young girls, will go to trial.
A Cleveland County judge ruled that there is enough evidence for 55-year-old Dwain Pellebon to stand trial on charges of lewd acts with a child and child sexual abuse by lewd acts.
Pellebon was arrested in December after a 13-year-old girl claimed she witnessed him abuse another girl.
In addition, a mentally disabled 15-year-old told investigators Pellebon raped her at least two times.
During the preliminary hearing, a total of six witnesses testified that Pellebon inappropriately touched them.
He is currently free on a $75,000 bond but has been ordered to stay away from children.
