OKLAHOMA CITY -- Numerous Oklahoma counties are under a burn ban because of dangerously dry conditions.

County officials in 22 counties have issued the alert.

Oklahoma County is still clear of a burn ban.

Controlled burns are still allowed in counties which do not have a burn ban.

Residents in counties under a burn bam could be putting themselves and their property in danger by burning outdoors.

June 2012 was not nearly as hot as June 2011.

None of the current burn bans were issued by the Governor, they are currently being issued by county officials.
