OKLAHOMA CITY -- A homeowner discovers an early morning house fire at his own home.

The fire sparked in the 1600 block of NE 25th Street, near 25th and MLK.

Police say the homeowner arrived home early Thursday morning to the smell of smoke, and he said his front door was warm to the touch.

Once on scene firefighters say the home was engulfed in flames, and smoke was pouring from the windows.

The homeowner ran next door to call 911.

Fire crews extinguished the fire quickly.

The cause is under investigation.
