OKLAHOMA CITY -- A woman led police on a lengthy chase through the metro after she allegedly skipped a routine traffic check point stop.

Police set up the check point near I-40 and SE 29th Thursday morning.

The woman driving arrived at the check point and was asked to pull over.

That's when police say she took off.

The driver led authorities on a high speed chase through the metro, on and off the interstate and through several neighborhoods.

Officers say the driver ditched her car behind a shopping center near Hefner and Penn and then took of on foot.

Police arrested the driver and her passenger.

No word on why the woman driver ran from police or if drugs or alcohol may have played a role.
