ANADARKO, Okla. -- Caddo County residents are being evacuated and fire crews have closed a few county roads because of a large grass fire three to four miles west of Anadarko and west of Chickasha near Highway 9.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is helping evacuate residents in the Hog Creek area.

While crews battle the blaze that has claimed just under 600 acres so far, Highway 9 between US 62 and County Road 2620 is closed because of smoke blowing across the roads.

The fire is moving south.

Authorities said a handful of structures may be in danger.

So far no structures have been burned.
