OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Police are investigating after a man was shot at a metro apartment complex.

Police rushed to the Adam's Crossing Apartments around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said the victim was shot inside an upstairs apartment.

OKC Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said, "We're trying to develop any suspect information we can. Right now, we don't have anything to officially release."

A witness named Ricardo, who speaks very little English, said he saw two men leaving the area after he heard a gunshot.

The victim, who police have only described as a black male, was critically injured.

Police interviewed several people trying to piece this all together.

Residents were shocked this would happen so close to home.

Neighbor Maria said, "I'm scared. I've been here 10 years and no problems, never."

Police have not released the victim's name.
