WELLSTON, Okla. -- There are new details released involving a gruesome murder in Wellston.
Investigators are asking the public's help, hoping to identify the victim by his tattoos.
Lincoln County sheriff's deputies said two men discovered the body Wednesday evening in a ditch along a rural road.
"Someone used shoe laces to tie his ankles together then used yellow and white ski rope to tie his wrists together," Sheriff Charlie Dougherty said. "They put a pillow case over his head and a tin foil ring around his neck holding down the pillow case."
Then he was shot twice in the back of the head at the scene, deputies said.
Homicide detectives snapped pictures of the scene, one of them showing the man's arm and three letters.
OSBI is hoping someone will recognize the ink.
There is another tattoo of a cross on his left arm.
"It's starting to appear that this is going to be drug and possible gang-related," Dougherty said. "We've identified some people that are with a south side gang in OKC."
But there have been challenges in getting information from those who may know what happened.
"It appears folks started getting high about 5 a.m. Monday morning (on meth) and they haven't been to bed since," he said. "Everybody we're talking to has been awake for the last three or four days"
The medical examiner's office is holding the victim's body until his identity is known and his next of kin is notified.
Police believe the killers responsible for this execution-style murder have committed other crimes including a home invasion, kidnapping and drug abuse.
