YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Police in Ohio are investigating a strange case involving a stolen vehicle and a 300-pound pig.

Officers received a call about a vehicle with two flat tires, deployed air bags and a lot of front-end damage along the side of the road.

When they arrived, they knew the driver would be long gone but were a bit surprised to find a pot-belly pig in the backseat.

They learned a pair of thieves broke into the car and decided to go for a little joy ride.

However, the pair got a rude awakening when “Penelope” decided to see what was going on in the front seat.

The crooks crashed the car and fled the scene, leaving “Penelope” to her own devices.

Fortunately, the owner and pig were quickly reunited after authorities found the car.

The woman claimed “Penelope” had been staying inside the vehicle after their home caught fire and she started looking for a new place to live.
