UPDATE: As of 5:30 a.m. Monday, Cox said email has been restored to all customers. They didn’t give a reason for the outage.

Cox communications claims to be your “friend in the digital age” but things have gotten mighty unfriendly this weekend when it comes to email.

Cox email has been out since Friday.

Customers can send messages but they can’t receive them.

It isn’t just here in Oklahoma, the outage appears to include at least 11 states.

A spokesperson from Cox said the company is having trouble with their email server platform and they have every available person working to resolve the issue.

Earlier Sunday afternoon, Cox posted this statement on their Facebook page, saying in part, “We know this experience is not consistent with our promise to deliver reliable products and services and sincerely apologize for the frustration this has caused.”

Cox said they expect to have everything back up and working by Monday morning and all messages sent during the outage should show up in the customers’ inboxes when the email comes back online.
