OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma residents only have two more days to take advantage for the attorney general’s mortgage settlement fund.

The program is designed to help Oklahomans who lost their homes, or experienced problems with their mortgages due to misconduct by a mortgage company.

The fund was created last year after Attorney General Scott Pruitt’s office reached a settlement with five of the nation’s largest mortgage companies following a multi-state investigation.

The report revealed practices that wrongfully led to foreclosure or other mortgage issues for homeowners.

So far, 525 homeowners have received payments ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.

The deadline for applying for the program’s second phase is Dec. 31.
