OKLAHOMA CITY—Two people are in critical condition after an accident involving a semi-truck early Sunday morning.

Police were called to eastbound I-40, between Portland and Meridian, around 2:45 a.m.

Troopers say a semi-truck crashed into the barrier wall after trying to avoid another accident that had just happened on the highway.

The driver was ejected from the truck, throwing him onto the westbound side of the interstate.

A passenger in the semi was pinned inside the vehicle until crews arrived.

Both were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
