OKLAHOMA CITY - It seems like there are more scams than ever today fighting to swindle you out of your hard-earned cash.

In an effort to educate and help keep Oklahomans from falling prey to crooks, Attorney General Scott Pruitt and his office set aside an entire day to warn the public, Brad Edwards Consumer Protection Day

Thursday Brad's daughter, Ashton Edwards, along with Scott Hines and the In Your Corner team, were at the Capitol to help raise awareness.

Brad Edwards was In Your Corner for more than 30 years working to expose scammers and help the public with crooks, rip offs and fraud.

Each year, in his memory, a member of our community is given the Brad Edwards Consumer Champion award for their outstanding service to the community.

Ashton presented this year's award to Elaine Dodd from the Oklahoma Bankers Association.

Her coworkers said she stands out in her field working tirelessly to ensure Oklahomans don't become victims of fraud.

If they have been taken advantage of, she devotes herself to minimizing the damage.

We have done stories with her on everything from text message credit scams to ATM hoaxes, even thieves getting into your bank accounts just by stealing your cell phone.
