Dunkin' Donuts

WEST HAVEN, Conn.—When a man attempted to rob a Connecticut Dunkin Donuts, he had no idea that a clerk had a hidden weapon that he was ready to use in his defense.

Authorities say a man pulled up to the drive-thru and asked the clerk for change for a $100 bill on Saturday.

When the clerk refused to make the change, the man told the clerk he was robbing the restaurant and tried to climb through the drive-thru window.

However, he didn’t get very far.

The clerk grabbed the closest thing to him and threw a hot pot of coffee in the man’s face.

The attempted burglar fled the area without taking anything.

Police in the area are still searching for the slightly singed suspect.
