CAMDEN, N.J.—A New Jersey woman is behind bars after allegedly stealing two police cars and leading officers on a chase through two states.

Authorities say a police officer made a traffic stop in front of police headquarters in Camden, New Jersey.

While he was interviewing the driver, he heard his car door shut.

That’s when the officer saw two people jump into his cruiser and take off.

He was knocked to the ground as they sped away.

Other officers joined the chase and the suspects eventually crashed.

One woman fled and left the passenger trapped inside the police car.

When authorities tried to apprehend the woman, she managed to steal a Philadelphia police car.

She led officers on another chase that ended in a neighborhood on the edge of the city.

When she attempted to run, she was taken into custody by several officers.

The Camden police officer suffered two broken legs and is in stable condition.

Authorities say the woman faces an array of charges for the joy rides.
