OKLAHOMA CITY – Our In Your Corner reporter Scott Hines has a big appetite for helping Oklahomans.

Lately he’s been been on a mission to raise money for the March of Dimes.

Tuesday was the second annual Burgers for Babies event at S&B’s Burger Joint.

Scott spent the evening earning tips for the non-profit’s upcoming March for Babies walk.

His passion for the charity was born out of a crisis close to home. family6

Two years ago this June, his nieces, Tatum and Harper, were born nine weeks premature, each weighing about three pounds and struggling to stay alive.

The girls spent about a month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mercy.

Fast forward to today and Tatum and Harper are thriving.

Both girls are happy and perfectly healthy.

Their mom, Scott’s sister, is now a fierce advocate for the March of Dimes and shares her family's story everywhere she goes.

Last year Scott and his sister, Megan, with the help of the community, raised about $14,000 for the March of Dimes.
