OKLAHOMA CITY – Pres. Obama has approved federal aid for 17 Oklahoma counties to help them recover from February’s winter storms.

Pres. Obama declared a major disaster in Okla. Monday and our state will now get financial help for the local recovery efforts.

Gov. Mary Fallin requested the disaster declaration in March saying the storms did about $7.5 million of damage.

Funds will now be available to repair and replace facilities damaged by the storms from Feb. 24 to Feb 26.
