NORMAN, Okla. - Two women on a crime spree are finally in police custody.

Twenty-nine-year-old Savanna Ponce and 19-year-old Lauren Lee were arrested Thursday in Norman.

Their criminal activity, however, had been going on for a long time.

"Based on my experience and training, there are bad guys and there are bad gals." Captain Tom Easley said.

Ponce and Lee face multiple charges, accused of running an elaborate burglary scheme and stealing mail.

The women stole a purse from a car in the Steel Fitness parking lot in Norman Thursday morning.

Police captured them when the pair tried to use a stolen credit card at a Walmart next door.

"One of the described females had her hands inside the alleged stolen purse," Easley said.

The two also had several other stolen items with them from many different crimes in several cities.

Authorities recovered Jessica Deppen's stolen mail.

She didn't even realize her mail had been taken until she got a call from police.

"Violated. For sure. It makes you wonder has this ever happened before," she said.

Luckily, the women only got away with junk mail.

Deppen said she is more cautious now.

"For sure I`m not going to be putting any checks in the mail," she said.

Ponce and Lee have been linked to several other crimes across the metro.

"We`re not finished," Easley said. "We have a lot of work to do. Who knows what we can tie them to beyond what we have right now."

The women are facing several felony charges.

If convicted, they could spend several years in prison.
