EUFAULA, Okla. – An explosion evacuated two schools in Eufaula Tuesday.

Officials with the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Department said it happened at the Ford Sand Blasting Plant a mile west of 69 on Highway 9.

Sheriff’s officials said at least two workers were hurt and flown to a nearby hospital.

Authorities said the explosion may have sparked when a propane tank rolled off a forklift and broke a valve.

Students at the elementary and middle school were evacuated to the high school as a precaution.
