Sooner softball team run-rules Cowgirls in Bedlam opener

The top-ranked Oklahoma softball team used four home runs to power past Oklahoma State 10-to-1 on Friday night in the first of tthe three-game bedlam series at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Sooner starting pitcher Keilani Ricketts blasted a grand slam, Brittany Williams added a two-run homer, and both Lauren Chamberlain and Shelby Pendley hit solo shots to lead OU to the run-rule win in 5 innings. The Sooners need just one win to clinch the outright Big 12 regular season title. The series continues with a Noon game in Norman on Saturday, and finishes Sunday in Stillwater at 1:00.
