Sooners go hog wild on Razorbacks, win regional

Oklahoma’s top-ranked softball team run-ruled Arkansas 14-1 in 5 innings to win the NCAA regional at Marita Hynes Field in Norman on Sunday. The Sooners scored five unearned runs in the 3rd inning, then added six more in the 4th to cruise to their second win in as many days over the Razorbacks.

Lauren Chamberlain connected for her 27th home run of the year, finishing the regional with a .750 batting average, 2 homers, and 13 RBI. Shelby Pendley added three RBI’s and hit her 20th home run of the year. Oklahoma wins a regional title for the 12th time in the last 14 years, and the 7th time in the nine years of the super regional format.

Oklahoma will host former Big 12 rival Texas A&M in the best-of-three super regional this weekend in Norman.
