DUNCAN, Okla. - A 16-year-old boy is behind bars accused of stabbing his 14-year-old girlfriend to death.

Just days ago the man who lives on this quiet street found the body of his 14-year-old daughter stabbed to death.

Authorities arrested her 16-year-old boyfriend, Michael Anthony Ray, after they said he broke in the back door and headed straight for the girl's room.

"Based on our information, Michael Ray was in a dating relationship with the victim," Leah Edwards said, Stephens County assistant district attorney. "When the victim attempted to break up with him, he broke into her home in the early morning hours of June 10 and stabbed her approximately four times, three in the back and one under the arm."

Court documents state Ray had been staying at this house not far away with his friend.

That's where investigators said he got the butcher knife he used to take his girlfriend's life.

Ray went before a judge Wednesday afternoon.

Courthouse personnel wouldn't allow our crews inside the courtroom or our cameras to get video of Ray or release a mugshot of him, even though he's being charged as an adult for murder.

"He's being charged with murder in the first degree even though he's a 16 year old,"  Edwards said. "The law provides for adult charges in these circumstances."

A 14 year old Ray stays with is also being charged in the case after court records indicate the 14 year old made the statement that he and Ray "hurt a girl real bad."

The affidavit also states Ray told authorities "he had nothing to do with her death and was cold and showed no emotion."

But prosecutors said they believe otherwise.

"This appeared, from all evidence gathered, to be a premeditated event," Edwards said. "It appears that the suspect thought about this, planned it and entered her home with the intent to take her life."

Prosecutors have asked Ray to be held without bond.
