GALVESTON, Texas-- It's a triumphant return for Carnival Cruise Lines.

The once troubled ship, the Carnival Triumph, is just now setting sail.

Thursday was the first time the ship has seen the open seas since company officials spent millions of dollars on repairs and upgrades.

Earlier this year, an engine fire left the ship stranded in the middle of the ocean for a week and passengers were forced to use plastic bags for a bathroom.

Today's cruise is sold out.
