UPDATE: GALENA, KS -- Law enforcement officials were contacted this afternoon by a citizen who had spotted the stolen truck on the Missouri/Kansas state line, entering into Kansas.

The citizen continued to update law enforcement on the area where the vehicle was spotted, and when law enforcement arrived in the vicinity of S.E. 100th and Boston Mills Road, the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.

Adam Holder is reported to have escaped from the John Lilley Correctional Center, in Boley, Oklahoma, earlier today. Holder is currently being held by the Cherokee County (KS) Sheriff's Office pending extradition.

The fire truck was impounded, and has since been returned to Oklahoma authorities.

BOLEY, OK - An inmate escaped, broke into the Boley Fire Department and stole a fire truck early Wednesday morning, according to officials.

Boley police officials said Adam J. Holder escaped from the John H. L. Lilley correctional facility in Boley sometime after midnight.

Authorities said he then broke into the Boley Fire Department and stole a 2009 Red Ford brush truck.

Boley authorities said Holder and the fire truck have been spotted on the H.E Bailey Turnpike headed towards the Missouri border.

Authorities said Holder went through a toll gate, telling the gate attendant he was delivering the fire truck to a fire department in Missouri.

Turnpike attendants became suspicious and called police.

If you have seen the fire truck or Holder, Boley police would like to speak with you.
