OKLAHOMA CITY --Two men are recovering after an early morning shooting and officials say the suspect is still on the run.

Witnesses called police about an assault outside the Boots and Saddles bar around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they learned about a double shooting that took place right outside the club.

MSgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department, said, "Apparently, there were two men sitting in a car when for unknown reasons they were shot, both were shot."

After the shooting, the two victims got split up.

They were able to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck in the 1400 block of N.E. 15th St.

The victim was conscious and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Knight said, "One of them ended up making it home, basically, to his house on 15th Street, while the other one was transported privately to a local hospital."

The second victim walked himself to OU Medical Center.

Officials said the man sustained a critical gunshot wound to the chest and was immediately rushed into surgery.

The case is now in the hands of investigators who will try to put together the missing pieces.

Knight said, "They will not only interview the victims, they will talk to witnesses at the scene."

Police say their goal is to uncover why this double shooting took place.

They don’t have a description of the suspect and continue to investigate.
