Officer shot while trying to arrest suspect in child’s murder

ARLINGTON, Texas- A Texas police officer is in critical condition after being shot while trying to serve an arrest warrant for a teenager suspected of murdering a 6-year-old girl.

Alanna Gallagher’s body was found naked and wrapped in a tarp on a street not far from her home on July 1.

On Tuesday, police went to the home of 17-year-old Tyler Holder, who lives just a few houses down from the girl’s family.

KXAS says Holder came to the door with a gun in his waistband, pulled it out and began firing at officers.

One officer was shot in the leg and was listed in critical condition.

Holder was shot in the head.
