PONCA CITY, Okla.- A man who was wanted for attempted murder in California was arrested in Ponca City on Wednesday.

Authorities say 24-year-old Leon Lowe was wanted for a shooting that sent one person to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds in Moreno Valley, California.

In June, a felony warrant was issued for Lowe, charging him with attempted murder.

When officers tried to arrest him for the crime, they learned he had fled the state.

A federal arrest warrant was then issued, charging Lowe with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Investigators learned that Lowe fled California for Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Lowe was quickly arrested and is being held in the Kay County Jail
