GRAPHIC: Authorities searching for neglected horse’s owner

SPENCER, Okla. – Officials are working to find the owner of this horse reported as a stray in Spencer.

Authorities found the horse on the 5000 block of Overbrook Rd. near N.E. 50th St. and Anderson Rd. with extensive injuries.

Animal welfare officials said the horse had a neglected wound on its neck infested with maggots.

According to OKC Animal Welfare, the horse is expected to recover.

Police are searching for the animal’s caretaker or owner.

They could face neglect or abuse charges.
