MIDWEST CITY, Okla. -- Charnesha Abraham says she felt terrible after her neighbor left her 11-month-old unattended in her apartment here in the 13-hundred block of Midwest Boulevard Saturday.

Police say 24-year-old Ebony Jackson's went out and didn't come back for hours while her child was left unattended.  Abraham says Jackson left the tv turned up "movie loud," but she still heard the child crying.

"He was screaming at the top of his lungs screaming."
Abraham alerted security to get a key - she says there was no air conditioning in the apartment either - and he was found in the back room.

"His diaper was dirty and everything rashes on him - two ring worm on his leg. There was spoiled milk in the baby bottle."

police reports say the mother told them she was overwhelmed and needed to get away to smoke some cigarettes. Abraham says the mother told her something different.

"She said she went to bingo and I was like oh my god. Yeah she went to bingo -she said she  got her child support check."

We went to Jackson's apartment,  but no one answered the door.

This neighbor knew she did the right thing and hopes this mother gets her act together.

"Common sense tells you if you're going to go somewhere get your baby dressed and take him with you."

Jackson was arrested for child endangerment and her child was put into protective custody.
