Government officials are investigating the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee after reports of fires.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration filed an investigation earlier this week after several fires were reported in the headliner on the passenger side near the sun visor.

The investigation covers 146,000 vehicles according to Automotive News.

Once the investigation is complete NHTSA officials will decide whether or not the problem should lead to further action such as a recall.
