EDMOND, Okla.-If you are in the market for a new family pet, the Edmond Animal Shelter is running a special promotion in hopes of finding their furry friends loving homes.

Beginning Friday, August 30, the Edmond Animal Shelter will begin its “Spin to Win” prize wheel.

Visitors who decide to adopt an animal from the shelter will have the opportunity to have the adoption fee waived.

After hearing about overcrowding issues, Loren Morgan wanted to donate the cost to cover 25 adoptions to reduce the number of pets in the shelter.

Organizers came up with a prize wheel that allows each family the chance to receive one of the free adoptions.

Donated goods and services from local vets, pet stores and private citizens will fill the other spaces on the wheel.

Guests will be able to win prizes like gift cards, micro-chipping, gift baskets, pet food and grooming services.

Currently, the shelter has 32 dogs and 28 cats available for adoption but there are 126 others that are in foster care or receiving medical treatment.
