OKLAHOMA CITY – The Northwest Expressway is back open after an accident forced officials to shut it down overnight.

Around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night a woman slammed into a power pole on the Northwest Expressway near Meridian.

The pole snapped in half, the bottom part of the pole was caught up in the wires.

The woman driving the car was taken to the hospital but we’re told she’s expected to be OK.

No word on what caused her to hit the power pole.

OG&E crews were called out to replace it.
