PURCELL, Okla. - A mother is speaking out about a heartbreaking case of child abuse in McCLain County and police say the child's own father is to blame.

Picture after picture shows bruise after bruise as well as scratches to Jamie Belcher's three-year-old son.

The boy's father, Brandon Drain, was arrested and charged for the abuse.

His mother said her son told doctors and nurses at the emergency room who did it.

"Daddy used the blanket to tie it around his neck and choke him and daddy was mad when it happened," Belcher said.

Belcher said the little boy's story never changed when he later police and a counselor about what happened but Belcher said this was far from the first time.

"I want to make sure that he doesn't get away with it anymore," she said.

Belcher said she believes Drain's visitation rights were never taken away, even after allegations of the abuse, because he has a relative who works for DHS.

"She specifically works for child welfare," Belcher said.

Officials at DHS said they cannot comment on specific cases or their employees.

In the mean time, Jaime said she will fight for her son.

"It kills me," she said. "I feel like it's my fault because despite the fact that he told me he didn't want to go out there, I let him go. I made him go because the court gave this idiot visitation. I fear that my son will end up dead."

Drain is facing felony child abuse charges.
