Oklahoma's football team is 4-0 and confidence is rising in Norman.

That's on defense as well as offense.

The Sooner D made two big plays early against Notre Dame, with Corey Nelson returning an interception for a touchdown, and Frank Shannon picking off a pass which led to a second OU touchdown.

A third forced turnover helped lead to a 35-21 win over the Fighting Irish last Saturday, OU's first win over Notre Dame since 1956.

The Sooners feel they have something to prove on defense after a sub-par season last year, in which the OU defense was torched for big yardage and points in the final weeks of the season.

Nate Feken talked to OU players and the head coach on Monday in Norman.
